When it comes to romantic weddings, I must say, this was one of my favourites! Actually, I’m still riding the high from Y and P's micro wedding at Churchill Island. After what felt like a week of gloomy rain, we all woke up that morning to the most beautiful sunshine streaming through the windows. It almost seemed like the universe was giving a big thumbs up for this special lavender field wedding!
As a Phillip Island micro wedding photographer, I admire Churchill Island and I believe it’s one of the most gorgeous places in Australia. Even though it’s just an hour and a half from Melbourne, it feels like a world away. With stunning bay views, amazing historic gardens, and those breathtaking lavender fields, it’s an ideal spot for a special celebration such as this one.
And for Y and P, it was even more special. This lovely couple has fond memories of chilling here back when they lived on Phillip Island. Choosing this spot for their wedding was a no-brainer, adding a personal touch that made the day all the more meaningful. Plus, with all the romantic wedding photo locations near Melbourne, this place brought exactly what they wanted from their big day!
The magic of this lavender field wedding started from the very beginning. Celebrant Christine Castle did a fantastic job, weaving their story into a ceremony that made everyone feel the love in the air. I have to say, there’s something incredibly special about micro weddings. With just close family around, the love felt amplified, creating a cosy and intimate vibe that was a joy to be part of.
After the vows, we headed to the lavender field for a quick couples’ session. This lavender farm wedding in Victoria, Australia, is the ideal spot for creating majestic photographs while not wasting time on transport. We were able to achieve the exact effect the newlyweds wanted with ease.
As Y and P shared sweet glances and bursts of laughter, it felt like we were in the middle of a fairy tale. Snapping those moments was pure bliss - each click of the camera captured their connection beautifully, and this lavender field wedding photoshoot on Churchill Island turned out to be a scene from a storybook.
Once we were done, we all headed to the Highland Room for a lovely luncheon. The joy continued to spread as family members shared stories and enjoyed delicious food. Seeing everyone come together made me realise how precious these simple moments can be!
This lavender field wedding was pure joy! I loved the experience of capturing big moments in such a special place. Plus, the couple made everything easy, so we all enjoyed this special occasion!
Take a look at this photoshoot and let your inspiration flow. When you are ready, feel free to get in touch, and together we can plan the day of your dreams!
